Thank you for checking out darrenSalon! This is an ongoing non-profit project of mine but I'm excited to have this launched and operating. If you have no idea how to use the site, or wondering what different terminologies are, you can probably find it here. This page/area is a resource that is continually being updated, so check back often.
Q. What is the point of this site?
A. The point of darrenSalon is to harness the power of intelligent conversation surrounding digital media and technology. Why do I do this? Because it's a passion of mine and I want to further my expertise and knowledge base by communicating with folks like yourself.
Q. What is a WineTable?
A. In simple terms, a WineTable is a small get together at a local bar, lounge, home or restaurant, where the 6-8 members of the conversation share a bottle of red or white wine and chat about a specific subject. The event location is only disclosed to the participants in order to keep the event attendance minimal so that everyone can speak towards the subject of the WineTable and keep conversation flowing. To sign up for a WineTable, please go to this page (salons) and click on the WineTable you want to attend.
Q. What is a darrenSalon?
A. Very good question. A darrenSalon is a large group event that enables as many people as possible (within reason) to come to a certain location and talk about a topic(s) in digital media and technology. A previous event was held in December 2006 which led to the creation of darrenSalon. You can read about that event on my personal blog (www.darrenherman.com).
Q. How do I register for an account?
A. You can register a few different ways for the site. The simplest way to register is to click on this link located here. If you wanted to get saavy, you can click over to the Salons page and then subscribe to a certain Salon. When you are doing so, you will be asked to either register or sign-in. If you are really perceptive, there is a bit of text on each page on the upper right hand corner of your screen which shows My Account, and you can register by clicking on that.
Q. Because I think darrenSalon is fantastic, how do I get involved with darrenSalon from an operational, sponsorship, or other capacity?
